Chelsea pushed for an equalizer in the second half, but they were unable to find a way past Pickford, who made a string of fine saves.
The result leaves Chelsea in sixth place in the Premier League, five points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking after the game, Everton manager Frank Lampard said: "It was a great performance from the lads. We defended really well and took our chances when they came."
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel said: "We didn't deserve to win today. We were not clinical enough in front of goal and we made too many mistakes."
